Experience
Josie Juhasz, M.A. has worked over 20 years as a psychotherapist.
Previously licensed as a Psychologist-MA in Vermont, a licensed
Professional Counselor in Washington, D.C., she is now a Licensed
Professional Counselor practicing in Bend, OR. In Bend, she has
worked for St. Charles Behavioral Health and is currently in full-time
private practice.
Due to her interest in community and social needs, Josie initially
worked for a community mental health center in rural Vermont. She
was part of a pilot project to help families maintain custody of
their children by providing intensive psychotherapy and social services
support. This highly successful program has grown and is now utilized
nationally in other community mental health centers. For 4 years,
she was a member of a reflecting team. The team developed innovative
ways to utilize feminist and narrative approaches to assist clients
and their therapists when facing impasses.
As Director of Counseling Services for Planned Parenthood of Northern
New England, she developed short-term psychotherapy models to work
with couples and women facing unplanned pregnancies. During her
tenure, she supervised clinicians and provided a training program
for post-graduate internships. She trained medical staff on mental
health related issues and on developing counseling skills. As a
Consultant for a Women’s Health Center, she provided supervision
to medical staff on their client’s mental health issues.
In private practice, she has provided both short and longer term
psychotherapy with individuals, couples and families particularly
on issues of trauma, sexuality, grief and loss, attachment and intimacy,
as well as depression and anxiety. She assisted clients from Vermont's
statewide AIDS organizations by providing mental health services.
She also co-founded and became the first executive director of OUTRIGHT
VERMONT, a statewide agency for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
youth. In addition to managing the statewide organization, she facilitated
trainings, supervised staff, provided crisis counseling and facilitated
weekly support groups.
She is certified in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing
(EMDR) and a Consultant in Training for EMDR. She is trained in
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. She has advanced training in Critical
Incident Stress Management, multi-phased trauma treatment, hypnosis/hypnotherapy,
attachment therapy, Narrative Therapy, and couples treatment. She
taught a basic counseling skills course for Goddard College’s
Graduate Counseling program. She has facilitated multiple trainings
on sexuality, social issues and counseling skills development. She
has been a consultant for Employee Assistance Programs and has provided
Critical Incident Stress Management Services for businesses in the
Washington, D.C. area, after September 11th and during the 2002
sniper shootings. She also provided Critical Incident Stress Debriefings
at St.Charles Medical Center in Bend, OR.

Consulting
Over the past 15 years, Josie Juhasz, M.A. has provided consultations
for psychotherapists and medical staff on the mental health needs
of clients. She provided supervision to the medical staff of the
Women’s Health Center in Burlington, Vermont for several years.
She provides supervision for state licensure and consultations for
certification in EMDR.

Fees
and Services
Initial Consultation: $150.00
Ongoing Fee Individual: $120.00 per clinical hour (50 minutes).
Limited Sliding Fee.
Supervision/Professional Consultations: Negotiable
Most insurances are accepted; clients are responsible for all copays
and deductibles.
